Abstract
Wideband downconverters are used in electronic warfare (EW) systems and the performance is critical to the overall performance of the system. This paper describes the design of a miniature wideband downconverter that has to meet stringent RE performance requirements as part of a broadband digital receiver. The trade offs between space, filtering and component performance are highlighted. Using system simulations that use computer aided design techniques the performance of a downconverter system has been simulated and compared to measurements.
