Abstract
The K-distribution is an important probability distribution to describe radar reflectivity of clutter in SAR images. One of the main tasks is to find reliable estimates of the two parameters that determine the K-distribution. In this paper the derivations of different moment estimators for both parameters are shown. For each of these estimators, the linear expansion is calculated. With this expansion it can be demonstrated, that the moment estimator converges in probability to the true parameter value, and that the order of convergence of the estimator is equal to that of the maximum likelihood estimator.
