  • Abstract
A system of perfectly bonded elastic halfspaces is analyzed. It is shown that periodic disbondings which are equivalent to in-plane cracks embedded in an infinite elastic medium, guide shear interfacial waves along the plane. Bragg reflection of the guided wave yields a wide relative stopband, apparently promising in applications in SAW-like resonators. It is also shown that entire, perfect bonding of two properly oriented piezoelectric halfspaces guides SH waves along the plane of bonding if there is a system of conducting strips (or entire metallization) in that plane. Applications are discussed. An EM leaky wave antenna is analyzed with help of the same method
