Abstract
This paper presents the performance and the numerical evaluation of existent methodologies for calculating the transient state of harmonics from a nonsinusoidal voltage/current waveform. The evaluated and compared techniques are phase-locked loop, windowed fast Fourier transform, Kalman, and a hybrid Kalman-wavelets technique. The major differences between them are stated according to the obtained results through some examples.
