  • Abstract
Building Web-based courses has become an important trend for the innovation of teaching methods. At present, however, only a few teachers who are highly zealous and have mastered the knowledge of Internet technology and Web page design skills are able to build and maintain such Web courses in an asynchronous or synchronous learning environment. For most of them, building a Web course by themselves still is a difficult or even impossible task. In order to promote Web-course building, we put forward the AWCB (Automatic Web-Course Building) system, which can help teachers to build their courses on the Web automatically if the teachers import their teaching material into the system. Other functions are also provided in this system, such as a complete presentation of the course content, authorization and authentication of users, notification of learning information, interaction among users, course management, etc.
