  • Abstract
Recently, Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) has been chosen as the core of mobility management mechanism for Aeronautical environment. Considering the fact that Aircraft is travelling at high speeds and connected by a wide range of wireless networking technologies, it is a challenging task for providing seamless mobility. Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is a network-based localized mobility management (NETLMM) protocol, Unlike previous host-based mobility management protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), fast handover for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6), PMIPv6 is a protocol which network supports IP mobility without participation of the MN, and it also has some salient features. We proposed in this paper, pre-Binding Update scheme for supporting seamless handover in PMIPv6.this scheme reduces handover latency by the proactive signaling. Meanwhile MPLS is now become more and more popular, and MPLS support is an important function for edge and core routers. Therefore, we introduce a MPLS-PMIPv6 tunnel technology to tunnel packets between the LMA and the MAG. it helps to add Quality of Service (QoS) to the ATN. Finally, Integrating MPLS and Proxy IP Mobility can leverage Proxy IP Mobility deployment in the Aeronautical industry.
