Abstract
An existing first generation shopping mall is limited to comparing merchant offerings usually on price instead of their full range of value. Even though it performs the full range comparison, it does not appear to be a good model which considers overall features in the negotiation process appropriately. Therefore, the negotiation model needs to be extended to include negotiations over more attributes. We suggest a new model for an agent-based mediation system over only the prices in an electronic shopping mall. We also describe a prototype of our agent-based mediation system in a general electronic commerce framework. Moreover, our mediation system can be settled by the controversial situation whereby an existing mediation strategy is limited to a specific shopping mall.
