Abstract
We designed an ultra-small silicon Mach Zhender interferometric (MZI) switch using slow light in photonic crystal. Using active control we made it possible to slow the light speed of the defect mode in the photonic crystal slab that was filled up with electro-optic polymer in its holes. We demonstrated the efficient active control of the lightwave speed in the arms of the MZI where each arm has different light speed.
