Abstract
Linear-Parameter-Varying (LPV) control is a promising technique which extends linear control theory to nonlinear and time-varying systems. LPV synthesis techniques are mostly model-based, therefore one needs to have an accurate model of the process. To obtain a precise model of the process can be sometimes tedious and difficult. Recently methods have been proposed which directly design fixed-structure LPV controllers using data available from the plant. These methods are however restricted to stable plants only. In this note we propose a method for designing fixed-structure LPV controllers for unstable plants based on input-output data only. The proposed approach is a practical one and is illustrated with an example.
