  • Abstract
A theoretical model has been developed to calculate the power distributions inside a three-layer cylindrical human body model, caused by four flanged waveguide applicators placed in direct contact with the body´s surface. A system of four coupled integral equations is derived on the open waveguide apertures, by applying the appropriate boundary conditions. Numerical results for a four element phased array hyperthermia system operating at 433 MHz are presented.
