Abstract
In this paper, a novel method for analysis of the average and RMS currents in inverter switching devices and the RMS value of the ripple component of inverter input current is presented. The proposed method is based on the probability with which inverter switching devices receive ON signals. To show the general applicability of the proposed method, the expressions for the currents of sinusoidal PWM and hysteresis current-controlled inverters are derived. Experimental results are included to show the validity of the proposed method
