Abstract
In the fMRI study, the functional responses of the brain differ from region to region, and are little more complicated than the simple boxcar waveform or more sophisticated but single hemodynamics response function. Fuzzy canonical correlation analysis (FCCA) is developed, which can detect waveform of each voxel and minimize the effect of false activity such as inner speech during control epochs. This makes it possible to design an elastic experimental and control block. A brain mapping in recalling long term memories consolidated by mnemonics called the method of loci was carried out using fMRI experiments. The fMRI signals were analyzed using SPM99 and FCCA together with fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering. The clustering results reveal the functional specialization of Broca´s area and visual area.
