Abstract
To simplify the approach to total plant identification, such that a full understanding of sometimes complicated analyses need not be required, and to present the results of the analyses in a more readable and usable form, the Plant System Identification (PSI) software package was developed. The package follows on from the initial work performed by Mercer and Mailey (1986) using many of the techniques described by Wellstead (1981). This paper describes the salient features of the developed PSI software package which enables rapid modelling of process dynamics, using both frequency and time domain analyses. Emphasis is given to the various multi-frequency type test signal generation and to their practical application to the modelling a 200 KW test boiler
