Abstract
A simulation program has been developed to simulate the harmonic current emission of photovoltaic systems under different solar radiation conditions, resulting in different generation scenarios. The simulation is based on measured data of temperature and global solar radiation and can be applied to any site conditions. The result indicated an excellent correspondence between simulation and measurement results. The harmonic currents differ much under different generation conditions, e.g. a great difference was recognized between high generation (summer) and low generation (winter). The assessment for grid connection of PV-converters shall take account of this fact. It is suggested to use the simulation results instead of using the worst conditions as per IEC 61000-3-12
