Abstract
Battle management can be viewed as a combinatorial optimization problem. The task is to assign the timely firing of various weapons to prioritized targets so as to affect maximum damage. The current research focuses on antisatellite battle management. Evolutionary programming is used to search for suitable firing strategies. The results indicate that the method rapidly optimizes such strategies and can provide improvements over greedy methods. The process is well-suited for implementation on a parallel processing computer
