Abstract
A new concept, radiometric multiresolution analysis (RMA), is proposed by applying multiresolution analysis to statistical mechanics. A measure issuing from RMA decomposition is taken as a measure of homogeneity for a speckled signal. This measure is speckle-model-free. Some results of a speckle filter for both synthetically generated images and SAR images by RMA are shown
