Abstract
Two three-phase soft-switched gate-turn-off (GTO) inverter circuits are presented and analyzed by simulation and experimental measurements. Soft switching (zero voltage zero current switching) is achieved with one commutation-aid circuit for the whole inverter bridge, placed at the DC side, which replaces the usual snubber circuits. Because of the low switching losses and dwelling times, 20 kHz operation has been achieved.<>
