Abstract
Mayon volcano has erupted at five or ten year intervals. It is located to the south of Luzon Island in the Philippines. The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines caused a tremendous disaster, such as a mudflow. As Mt. Mayon is one of the biggest volcanic mountains in the Philippines, its state must be monitored. Especially, it is important to measure the deformation caused by eruptions. This study is an experimental analysis for deformation of the volcanic mountain. The differential SAR technique was applied to detect the deformation area of Mt. Mayon using European ERS 1 and 2 Tandem data. The proposed method was as follows. (1) generation SAR interferometries from two pair of EERS tandem data. (2) generation DEM from the unwrapped interferometries. (3) comparison generating DEM each others and existed topographical maps. The results shows the area and depth of lava flow by the eruption. The proposed analysis revealed the deformation area of Mt. Mayon
