Abstract
Reducing the height of the planar phased array antenna is a key problem in satellite communication on the move. (Satcom on the move) This paper presents a scheme to resolve it. When applied multi-panel array antenna, the reduced height of the planer antenna cause some problems such as the decrease of antenna performance. Genetic algorithm optimization is applied to adjust the position of array elements to reduce the sidelobe level of antenna beam pattern. Computer simulation results show the maximum relative sidelobe level of antenna beam pattern is attained.
