Abstract
In this paper, application techniques of such modern heuristics methods as genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, tabu search, etc. to distribution systems optimization are discussed. Related papers which are published in IEEE PES Transactions between 1990 and 2000 are surveyed, and several examples for application techniques of such modern heuristics to distribution optimization are outlined.
