  • Abstract
The increase for requirements in reusability and flexibility has created new challenges in broadband communication systems development. Signal analysis and generation is now available using a broad range of input/output hardware configurations with very large instantaneous bandwidths. These broadband signals can be buffered into large memory banks - providing a means for complex virtual analysis and generation instruments to operate simultaneously. One of the major benefits of virtual instruments is the ability to support custom requirements with minimal cost and testing time. L-3 Communications, Celerity Systems is one of the leading providers of modularized and reusable virtual instrumentation. This presentation includes a brief snapshot of the various broadband architectures available or planned, and tools for testing to ensure robust system designs.
