  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We demonstrated compact efficient cw yellow laser generation from single-pass sum frequency mixing (SFM) of a diode-pumped Nd:YVO/sub 4/ dual-wavelength laser with periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN). A three-mirror linear cavity was proposed to generate stable simultaneous cw emission of two wavelengths, one of which /spl lambda//sub 1/ is 1342 nm and the other /spl lambda//sub 2/ is 1064 nm, from a diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO/sub 4/ laser. With 1.2 W of power at 1064 nm and 1.0 W at 1342 nm incident on the PPLN crystal, a sum-frequency output power of 92 mW was obtained at 593 nm with the single pass efficiency approximately 4.2%. The output powers at each lasing wavelength versus input power and the dependence of the generated yellow power on the total incident fundamental power at the optimum phase-matching temperature are shown.
