Abstract
This paper focuses on flexible drive train models of wind turbine. According to the equivalent lumped mass method, six different drive train models (i.e. 6-mass, 4-mass, 3-mass I, 3-mass II, 2-mass and 1-mass models) are built. Combined with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind power system, the transient responses of each model are investigated during electrical transients. Moreover, the effects of drive train parameters on the transient behaviors of wind turbine are also examined. Simulation results have shown that drive train model structures and flexible parameters have significant influences on the transient performances of wind turbine.
