  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Photonic quantum ring (PQR) lasers exhibit anomalous quantum wire properties such as ultra-low threshold currents and square-root-T dependent spectral shifts. We also notice that the photons propagating chirally with clockwise and counterclockwise components in the 3D toroidal cavity of the PQR laser lead to a breaking of vertical-axis rotational symmetry. The standing modes of chiral lightwave were induced by the so-called photonic quantum corral effect (PQCE), making lightwave-trapped formations of /spl lambda//2 spaced photonic quantum-corral manifolds. In this report, we consider a few chiral propagation models to compare them with experimental data. Although the Laguerre-Gaussian model is ideal for chiral propagation and field analysis for the stretched PQR, the inter-mode spacing of the PQR´s multi-chromatic lasing spectra can be neatly analyzed from a model simulation using a torus knot.
