  • Abstract
The main objectives of this paper are to improve performance of an induction motor by using Static VAR Compensator (SVC). The induction motor is used in a wide variety of applications; hence proper performance of it is important. SVCs are known FACTS devices to control voltage and to improve transient stability of power systems, and also to manage reactive power in power systems. In this paper we use SVC besides an induction motor to control the voltage and therefore the speed of motor. We use a dynamic load near the motor to vary reactive power and therefore voltage of the bus. Simulation results show significantly operation improvement of induction motor.
