Abstract
Summary form only given. A gyrotron, based on the energy exchange between gyrating electron beam and fast wave, has been recognised as one of the most promising millimeter and THz wave sources in producing high power with high efficiency. The well-established Particle-in-Cell (PIC) codes are widely used to study the nonlinear beam-wave interaction process in the design of gyrotrons. However, the PIC codes require an extensive computation resource and long simulation time, which is not efficient in the design and optimization process of gyrotrons.
