Abstract
Both 2D and 3D magnetic field finite element simulations of 3.6MW permanent magnet synchronous wind generator (PMSWG) are done in this paper and the 2D simulation results of no-load voltage, load voltage and current are compared with that of 3D simulation. Meanwhile, the leakage flux coefficient, skew slot effect and end leakage reactance are analyzed according to this 3.6 MW generator design project. The comparison and analysis result has proved that the simplified 2D magnetic field finite element analysis (FEA) method is reliable enough on the premise of accurate generator design parameters.
