Abstract
Presents an overview of an architecture to facilitate the creation of communicating applications for hand-held computers. We briefly introduce the overall goals of the project, the application model, and then describe the key features that support communicating application programs. Finally, we walk through the execution of a communicating application to observe the application model in use. This paper only discusses hardware and operating system issues as they relate to applications. Communications issues, such as modem dialing or wireless considerations are not covered, as they are hidden from most application programs
