Abstract
A new three-phase AC-DC single-stage PWM full-bridge converter is proposed in the paper. The outstanding features of the converter are that it can simultaneously perform input power factor correction (PFC) and isolated dc-dc conversion, it can operate using standard phase-shift PWM control, it is simple and low cost, and it has a dc bus capacitor that allows it operate with a certain amount of hold-up time if the input ac voltage is removed. In the paper, the operation of the new converter is explained and analyzed, its design is discussed, and experimental results that confirm the feasibility of the converter are presented.
