Abstract
Magnetic gear is becoming attractive due to its significant features, such as reduced acoustic noise, maintenance-free and inherent overloaded protection. In this paper, a magnetic-geared double salient permanent magnet machine is presented. The key is to newly add the flux-modulated teeth in the outer part of the stator pole. Both finite element analysis and experimental results show that the proposed motor not only maintains the advantages of doubly salient permanent magnet motors, but offers the performances of low-speed and high-torque.
