Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. The Holtsmark microfield distribution function gives us knowledge of the electric field distribution in ionized gases. This is of a fundamental nature because the function appears in many plasma physics problems, as for instance the spectral broadening of spectral lines emitted by atoms in the gas. No simple relation can be found for this function, however using the recent technique of two-point quasifractional approximations approximants have been found wich allow a simple and precise calculation for the whole range of the variable. The accuracy of these approximants derived here present enough accuracy for most of the application problems in plasma physics with the advantage of being easy to calculate even with a simple scientific pocket calculator.
