Abstract
Synchronization is a key technique in 802.11a system. The traditional methods improve the performance of synchronization by sacrificing the bandwidth. This paper presents an improved synchronization method for 802.11a, which not only gives attention to both the problem of bandwidth waste and the performance of synchronization, but also has the lower computational complexity and higher estimation exactitude. We simulate the synchronization algorithms on 802.11a system and prove that the improved synchronization method is the advanced one.
