Abstract
Financial regulation has an important impact on financial product innovation activities. Through the establishment of a game model between regulator and innovator, this paper studies the relationship between regulatory delay and the timing of financial product innovation. The conclusion is that regulatory delay has positively impact on the innovator´s decision. The impact is good or bad depending on the regulation direct cost and the opportunity cost.
