Abstract
The performance of a parallel acquisition scheme for a direct-sequence spread-spectrum receiver operating in the presence of data is presented. The effects of the data modulation on key quantities such as probability of false alarm, probability of correct detection, and mean time to acquisition are analyzed in both the search mode and the lock mode, and a search-lock strategy aimed at minimizing the acquisition time is described.<>
