  • Abstract
For hybrid bistatic space based radar (HB-SBR) which is composed of a transmitter on a satellite and a receiver on an airplane, clutter is a serious problem for detecting slow moving target. The authors discuss the effects of geometry on clutter characteristics, such as Doppler-angle traces, isorange and isodoppler contours, Doppler ambiguities and so on, of HB-SBR which applies space-time adaptive processing (STAP) in this paper. It is shown that some unique clutter properties appear due to the great differences of platform speeds and heights between the transmitter and receiver in the hybrid mode. Some suggestions about bistatic geometry design are also made to improve he performance of moving target indication (MTI)
