Abstract
Network-on-chip (NoC) is considered as a reasonable solution for integrating plenty of IP blocks on a single chip in Nano-scale technology. But its proper function is suffered from crosstalk errors, which is becoming more and more serious with the rapid shrink of the technology. Meanwhile chip in hard environment where full filled with energetic particles such as nuclear power plant, eagerly calls for strong reliability. In this paper, we proposed a coding method for NoC channel, multiple-continuous-error-correct-coding (MCECC) which can strongly correct continuous error bits with 14-bit maximum fault tolerance. Besides, an adaptive error control scheme is proposed to work with this code to enhance the robust communication. Experiments show that the proposed design can reduce nearly 50% wire capacitance energy dissipation and stronger error correcting ability, especially for continuous errors.
