  • Abstract
Call admission control (CAC) is a crucial element for providing quality of service (QoS) guarantees in a network. Performance deteriorates rapidly within large scale networks. Compared to measurement-based admission control approaches, the performance degradation can be important in the case of parameter- based approaches due to their dependence to the network topology. So, as networks grow in size, the collection and the maintenance of the resources reservation status which must be maintained coherent in the database become difficult, if not impossible. In this paper, we propose a novel admission control approach based on an aggregated scheme of the topology. This approach improves the traditional parameter-based admission control techniques. Simulation results show that our proposed admission control scheme achieves very good performances in the reduction of the memory space utilization and the algorithm complexity.
