Abstract
Advanced automotive control application such as steer-by-wire requires a high level of safety and performance. This paper describes an integrated control/diagnostic system for the application of steer-by-wire road wheel control. The proposed method solves the system control and diagnostic in an integrated manner which considers the interference and trade-off among the control and diagnostic objectives. The theoretical aspects of the integrated control/diagnostics method are revisited, and the effectiveness of the method is illustrated through a practical steer-by-wire road wheel control example
