Abstract
This paper presents a simulation model for the main engine, HITACHI-MAN-B&W 6L80MC/MCE, which is extensively used in modern container ships. Firstly, the thermotechnical parameters of the stable working condition are estimated by "filling-emptying" algorithm. Secondly, based on the result of first step, the double VIBE curve iteration method is employed to simulate the heat release curve to construct the model of unstable working condition. Via comparing the output parameters and output curves of our model with the real working parameters, our modeling algorithm shows a promising performance. The model is also applied to the SMSC-2000 marine engine room simulator stably, efficiently and practically.
