  • Abstract
A new method of monitoring and forecasting the steel-cord belt splice breakage and tension super-threshold is described in this paper, which is established on the basis of the measurement and analysis of the F-L (tensile Force-Length) characteristic curve of steel-cord belt splices. The principles and methods for monitoring the splice length and the belt tension are elaborated. And a practical real-time monitoring system is developed according to this novel method. Simulation experiments and industrial application have shown that it is of high measuring accuracy, high reliability and stability.
