Abstract
Distributed Lock Manager is a set of orders that governs the lock operations on the shared resources which arises in distributed environment. It provides distributed applications to synchronize the access to the shared resources. In this paper, we proposed a Hybrid algorithm combined from Ring and Multicast algorithms which will decrease the bandwidth consumption and response time from request to grant. In the Hybrid algorithm, the number of messages needed for request and release operations which refer to the response time will be decreased, and the bandwidth consumption for these operations in the network will be decreased as well, by eliminating the useless consumption in the Ring algorithm and decreasing it in Multicast algorithm. Good results had been achieved for the proposed algorithm comparing to the original ones.
