Abstract
In this paper, we propose tapered partially reflective surface (TPRS) arrays. On contrast to an equally-spaced PRS, the TPRS is composed of a densely-spaced region and a sparsely-spaced region. We found that side lobe levels near the main beam direction of an TPRS Antenna can largely be reduced. The gain of a conventional optimized PRS can further be increased using the tapering technique.
