Abstract
This paper focuses on searching the layer thickness conditions that produce non surface-waves. One method to suppress such an undesired surface-wave effect is integrating a unidirectional conducting layer (UCL) on top of the printed elements. The study uses the multilayered structure composed of 2 dielectric layers and a uniaxial conducting screen layer. Another approach is to place an electric dipole directly on a UCL. By changing the a UCL thickness, it can also prevent the occurrence of surface waves.
