  • Abstract
    General fault diagnosis method just studied sensor fault or system fault. Indeed, they may occur at the same time. Few literatures discussed how to distinguish sensor fault and system fault. Principle component analysis (PCA) is employed into fault diagnosis field to distinguish sensor fault and system fault in this paper. SPE is used to detect fault and SVI (Sensor Validating Index) is used to identify sensor fault or system component fault. Finally, a power providing system is studied to illustrate the performance of PCA to distinguish sensor fault and system fault. We make conclusion that PCA can distinguish them in some cases.
