Abstract
This paper reports recent results of measurements upon two high performance silicon solar cell modules. One module is based on cells which are hybrids between the buried contact solar cell and PERL (passivated emitter rear locally diffused) cells of cell efficiency in the 20-21% range. This module has an independently confirmed efficiency of 19.7-20.0%. The second module is based on large-area PERL cells of efficiency in the 21-22% range. The independently confirmed module efficiency is 20.5%, making this the first flat-plate photovoltaic module to exceed the 20% performance figure
