Abstract
Based on an appropriate hierarchical mobile IP network model, the quantitative analysis has been deeply investigated about relations between handoff latency and hierarchical mobile IP size of regional networks. Moreover, hierarchical mobile IP optimal size of regional network is obtained through adopting a minimum iterative function. The numerical simulation results show that related research achievements will be of benefit to mobile IP network planning and optimization
