Abstract
Mobile network (NEMO) is an extension of MIPv6. And route optimization for nested mobile networks is one of the major challenges in NEMO research. Some current solutions have too much additional cost and can´t deal with fast handoff scenario well. Aiming at these problems, we give a new route optimization algorithm for nested mobile network in this paper. The basic idea is that the mobile router has two identities when it moves to the foreign link. One identity is the gateway of the mobile network attached to it, and the other is an ordinary ad-hoc node to other mobile routers in foreign link. So nesting is eliminated when several mobile networks are attached together, and the mobile router can select the fixed foreign router as its access router directly even when there´s multi-hop between them. Evaluation results show that our approach has little additional communication cost. Furthermore, our scheme has good adaptability to fast handoff scenario
