Abstract
The present status of a-Si solar cell technology at Fuji Electric is reviewed. The device structure and key technologies of high performance a-Si tandem solar cells is presented. The production technology for fabricating large-area a-Si submodules with the tandem structure is also reviewed with the results of trial productions. Applying the present technology, the authors have achieved an average efficiency of 10% in the trial production of 30 cm×40 cm submodules. These modules have a stabilized efficiency of about 8.5%. Some reliability tests are shown and discussed
