Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel distributed video coding (DVC) bit-stream reorganization scheme for DVC decoding for mobile device. The typical complexity shift of DVC from encoder to decoder may make the decoder too complex for mobile devices. To reduce the decoding complexity, trans-coding scheme and bit-stream reorganization scheme with motion vector and parity length information transmission are proposed. However, they may suffer both from additional quality degradation and bit-rate increase. Therefore, we further propose a selective channel information transmission scheme for such mobile to mobile video communication using DVC framework The proposed scheme outperforms conventional DVC to H.264/AVC intra trans-coding in rate-distortion performance, and also it is shown to be 4~8 times faster than the conventional DVC decoding.
