Abstract
In order to significantly improve the servo bandwidth, this paper studies the vibration compensation in the head actuator assemblies of hard disk drives. The proposed technique can make hard disk servo systems meet tighter requirements of higher data density applications with reliability. For perfect vibration compensation, an accelerometer is introduced to measure the resonance. Unlike traditional discrete-time controller design, the proposed multirate controller is designed in continuous-time domain first and then is discretized with minimum H/sub /spl infin// norm, which defines the closed-loop based system performances.
